Advanced genetic techniques, like barcoding and massive sequencing, evaluate and monitor soil quality

Resume of the project

This could open the doors to future collaborations among different universities and help address a widespread issue throughout Europe, which is soil degradation.

Objetives

To promote among university students and faculty members the understanding of the significance of research and its ability to address current and future challenges, in order to motivate their involvement and awareness of the importance of these initiatives in problem-solving.

We are searching for

This project targets students and faculty members specialized in areas such as mesofauna, soil ecology, edaphology, genetics, metabarcoding, and metagenomics. The participants will conduct analyses on the mesofauna that is characteristic of each soil type, utilizing barcoding techniques to determine the present condition of said soils.

Expected results
